The 23rd Astra Film Festival in Sibiu (17-23 October) came to a close with US documentary Changa Revisited by Peter Biella and Leonard Kamerling winning in OutstanDox, the main section of the festival featuring films from around the world.

Georgian filmmaker Salome Jashi's The Dazzling Light of Sunset [+see also:

received the Best Central and Eastern European Documentary Award. The Documentary Heart of Sarajevo winner A Mere Breath [+see also:

by Monica Lăzurean-Gorgan won Best Romanian Documentary.

opened the gathering, was presented with the Excellency Award for Outstanding Contribution to World Cinema.
