The shoot for La Part Sauvage (lit. “The Wild Side”), the feature debut by Belgian director Guérin van de Vorst, kicked off in Brussels in late October, toplined by Vincent Rottiers. The movie is being produced by Wrong Men, the same company we have to thank for titles like Prejudice [+see also:

La Part Sauvage depicts the personal journey of Ben, a 28-year-old offender in the midst of an existential crisis, played by Vincent Rottiers (Nocturama [+see also:

). Ben spent three years behind bars after a hold-up, and while he was there, he converted to Islam. Now that he’s out, what he wants most of all is to re-establish contact with his son, Samir. But Samir gave up waiting for him a long time ago, and Nadia, his ex-wife, no longer trusts him. Mustapha, his new “guru”, convinces him that he will never find his place in this society, thus intensifying his feeling of injustice. Ben tries his best to follow the norms and principles imposed on him by Mustapha, when one day he meets Lucie, who does nothing to help him adhere to them... Between rehabilitation work and minor repeat offences, Ben will fight hard to resist hatred, re-establish ties with his son and rediscover his dignity as a free man.
