According to the filmmaker, the screenplay follows the story of a busy man, who fills his time travelling to Africa, South America and the Middle East. His passion for his job has distanced him from his loved ones. He’s been divorced for three years and seen his son very little since. But the disappearance of the latter forces this man to stand still and discover things about his ex-wife and, above all, his son. A terrible feeling of guilt overwhelms him and he decides to find his son at all costs...

Produced by Christophe Rossignon and Philip Boëffard for Nord-Ouest Films (which has produced all Carion’s feature films), My Boy is co-produced most notably by Une Hirondelle Productions (the director’s company) and Caneo Films (owned by Guillaume Canet). All the partners will be announced in due course. It should be pointed out that the film benefitted from having Eric Dumont as its director of photography, whose background is in documentary film and who made his very successful first foray into fiction with The Measure of a Man [+see also:
