Written by the director, the story revolves around 30-year-old Maria, who is impatient, rebellious and an expert in English. Olivier is 25, shy, slow and a German expert. They meet in China. Then, suddenly, the news explodes. It's their story, a true story – it's the incredible force of love.

Produced by Tom Dercourt and Sophie Erbs for Cinéma Defacto and executive-coproduced by House on Fire (via its Paris-based outfit and its Taiwanese branch), Territory of Love is receiving support from the Alsace and Limousin regions, the Urban Community of Strasbourg, the Cofimage Sofica, Media Slate Funding, the Procirep, and the councils of the cities of Kaohsiung and Taichung. The shoot will begin with a 17-day stretch in Taiwan, before continuing for 12 days in France, initially in Limoges, followed by Alsace, where it will wrap on 8 June. The French theatrical release will be handled by Sophie Dulac Distribution, while UDI will take care of the international sales.

Among the myriad projects that it has in the pipeline, Cinéma Defacto currently has Après la guerre by Italy’s Annarita Zambrano (see the article – executive-produced with Sensito Films), Los Perros [+see also:
