02/05/2017 - With Léonor Serraille in Un Certain Regard, Belinda in the ACID and six other titles at the market, the sales agent’s Cannes sales are looking extremely promising

Managed by Pamela Leu, international sales agent Be for Films, the Belgian subsidiary of French group Films Distribution, will rock up at the Film Market of the 70th Cannes Film Festival (17-28 May) with a number of aces up its sleeve.

film profile] by Léonor Serraille, which will have its world premiere in the Un Certain Regard selection. Produced by Blue Monday Productions and starring Laetitia Dosch, the feature debut by the young French director, who studied in the screenwriting department of La Fémis, depicts Paula’s misadventures in Paris after she follows her partner there against his wishes, only to find the door slammed in her face.

film profile] by Maria Dumora, a film selected in the ACID’s Cannes programme, which will also get a market screening. Shown as the opening film in Panorama Dokumente at the Berlinale, the film paints a moving portrait of a female character whom we first meet at the age of nine, then catch up with at 15 years old, and whom we finally meet again at the age of 23, as she waits for the man she loves and wants to marry to be released from prison.
