managed to snag a total of six awards out of 11 nominations, amongst them the most highly coveted ones: Best Feature Film of the year, and Best Director for Andrius Blaževičius. Tellingly, three out of the four acting gongs went to The Saint as well – in addition to the obvious Best Actor Award to Marius Repšys for playing the film’s protagonist, Vytas, Best Supporting Actor and Actress went to Valentinas Krulikovskis and Gelminė Glemžaitė, respectively.

was well deserved and certainly came as no surprise, but it was exciting to see his daughter, aspiring filmmaker Marija Stonytė, win a Silver Crane Egg for Best Student Film for her documentary short Mountains to Climb.

All in all, a record number of awards were given out on the anniversary night. In addition to 16 Silver Cranes, the Silver Crane Egg and an Audience Award, the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award went to actor Vytautas Paukštė for performing in more than 50 roles on the silver screen in approximately as many years.
