Call for projects for ACM Distribution

Call for projects for ACM Distribution

Since 2012, World Cinema Support (Aide aux cinémas du monde – ACM), jointly managed by the CNC and the Institut français, has supported feature films created as international co-productions with France. A new component of selective support intended to support and promote the distribution and international circulation of ACM films co-produced with a non-European country was launched in this context in 2015, in partnership with the European Commission’s Creative Europe-MEDIA programme, called ACM Distribution. Open to European companies (international sales agents, producers, distributors and content aggregators) offering innovative international distribution strategies for one or more ACM films across at least three territories (one of which must be a European country that is not France, and one non-European), the component has now launched its fourth call for projects.

The deadline for submitting applications is 30 September 2017. The list of eligible films, a detailed description of ACM Distribution and the application form can be downloaded from the CNC’s website, by clicking here.

Interestingly, an important change will come into force in December 2017, during the next call for projects, as it will be open to any film co-produced with at least one MEDIA country and one non-European country, and no longer only the films from the ACM catalogue. That said, the rule relating to the financing shares remains in force – ie, the share of the MEDIA co-producer(s) must be between 25% and 70% for fiction titles and animations, and between 20% and 70% for documentaries.

For the record, the ACM Distribution component has backed 15 films over the course of the last three selection committees (2016 and 2017), thus enabling these works to be distributed in over 90 additional countries across all continents, either in theatres or via VoD.

Among the films selected, which incidentally demonstrate a great degree of geographical diversity, we find Hedi [+see also:
