The 15th edition of the Ischia Film Festival (IFF) gets under way tomorrow (24 June), unspooling until 1 July and boasting a whole host of novelties. Another important new addition is the "Under the Sky" section, instigated in conjunction with Sky Italia, a retrospective/prospective of the films that don’t make it to the big screen. The Night of by Steven Zaillian and James Marsh will take centre stage in the retrospective dedicated to Lifetime Achievement Award winner John Turturro, while 1993 by Giuseppe Gagliardi will demonstrate just how much Italian TV series are thriving. Lastly, it will be worth tracking down the Sky Arte documentaries Andrea Pazienza: fino all'estremo by Paolo CarreddaBlow up di Blow up by Valentina Agostinis, about the films of Michelangelo Antonioni, and Graffiti a New York by Francesco Mazza, about Federico Buffa.
