Women and debut films in the limelight for the 4th session of screen.brussels
Director Eva Cools

€1,000,000 will be divided up between the 11 projects chosen by screen.brussels, the Brussels-based investment fund, which, by doing so, is hoping to generate €7,250,000 in structuring audiovisual spending in the Brussels-Capital Region.

Among the films receiving support is one international star (Thomas Vinterberg and his film Kursk, which stars Matthias SchoenaertsLéa Seydoux and Colin Firth, among others, and is being produced by Belga Films), an impressive piece that takes us deep into the Congolese jungle, The Mercy of the Jungle by Rwandan director Joël Karekezi, produced by Néon Rouge and starring Marc Zinga (Scouting for Zebras [+see also:

The programme for this session also features three debut films: Cleo, by Flemish director Eva Cools, produced by LunanimeFor a Happy Life, by Brussels-based filmmakers Salima Glamine and Dimitri Linder, who moves behind the camera after long serving as assistant director to Bouli LannersJoachim Lafosse, and Benoît Mariage, and produced by Tarantula; and from Climax FilmsJ’ai perdu Albert by Didier Van Cauwelaert, a French writer whose work has been adapted for film five times, and is now becoming a director himself for this piece, which puts the versatile Stéphane Plaza in the lead role of a somewhat fantastic comedy in which he is possessed by the spirit of Albert Einstein.

Last but not least there’s the latest film by director Delphine LehericeyLe Milieu de l’horizon, co-produced by Entre Chien et Loup. Starring in this adaptation of the book of the same name by Roland Buti (Switzerland), are Laetitia Casta (Gainsbourg [+see also:
