For his sixth feature-length directorial effort, Boon is rejoining the northern fold that propelled him to the dizzy heights of stardom in 2008 with Welcome to the Sticks [+see also:

Written by Dany Boon and Sarah Kaminsky, the story revolves around Valentin D, a hot designer architect who claims to be an orphan because he is too ashamed to admit he is the son of working-class scrap metal merchants from the north of France. Only his partner, the unbelievably snobbish Constance Brandt, is in on the secret. Right in the middle of the preview for their retrospective at the Palais de Tokyo, his family shows up unannounced from the north of France, with his brother Gustave, his sister-in-law Louloute and, to cap it all, his mother Suzanne, who is convinced she is coming along for her surprise 80^th birthday party. This reunion looks set to be truly unforgettable. 

Executive-produced by Pathé Production and Les Productions du Ch'timi, La ch’tite famille is being co-produced by TF1 Films Production and can boast the support of Pictanovo. Pathé, which will take care of the French theatrical release on 28 February next year, is also in charge of the international sales, which kicked off at the Cannes Film Market.
