The screenplay focuses on Márta, a 40-year-old Hungarian neurosurgeon with a brilliant American career.  She returns to Budapest to meet up with the love of her life: a fellow doctor whom she met at a conference in New Jersey. Márta waits for the man in vain at the Liberty Bridge in Budapest but he does not appear at the rendez-vous. The woman desperately starts searching for him, but when she finally finds him, the man claims that he has never seen Márta before in his life.

Produced by the Hungarian company Poste Restante (founded in 2016 by Dóra Csernátony and Lili Horvát) in collaboration with Péter Miskolczi, Preparations To Be Together For An Unknown Period of Time has a budget of €2 million (€416,000 of which has already been secured thanks to a development fund awarded by the Hungarian National Film Fund) and will be on the lookout for distributors, international sellers, co-producers, television and interested regional funds at Les Arcs.
