Insects by Jan Švankmajer

After a small announcement in October (read the news here), the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) continues to unveil the program for its 47th edition, which is due to take place from 24 January to 4 February 2018.

Highlights from these announcements include the screening of Insects, which is due to be the last film by the influential Czech master of stop-motion and surrealist animations, Jan Švankmajer, as well as the presence of Thai filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul, who is due to unveil his art installation SLEEPCINEMAHOTEL, an immersive film experience that functions as a temporary hotel, as part of Rotterdam’s new platform for audiovisual art entitled Frameworks.
