, a black comedy that brings the theatre texts written by Soler (the “outrage trilogy”: Against Progress – Against Love – Against Democracy), which have been performed all over the world, to the big screen. They consist of seven stories (entitled Family, Property, Commitment, Order, Work, Solidarity and Progress) that blend humour and horror as they paint a portrait of the contradictory, tumultuous, dysfunctional and nonsensical world we live in.

“Esteve wanted to adapt his stage works, and the short that the three directors shot saw a great deal of success at various festivals: in fact, we’ve included that same story in the feature,” explains producer Martín Samper: “In summer 2016, I read the screenplay and I was fascinated by its mix of realism and horror, with added dark comedy, kind of in the style of Beckett, Ionesco, and even Buñuel. I sensed its huge potential, and we started looking for a cast that would do it justice: the actors came on board raring to go, attracted by the storyline and Esteve’s charming personality.”

7 Reasons to Run Away was filmed – in both Catalan and Spanish – between 6 October and 16 November 2017 in Terrassa, Manresa and Berga (Barcelona). It is being produced by Producciones del Interior AIE, with No Hay Banda and Aritz Cirbián's Compacto listed as associate producers: both companies previously staged the feature The Long Way Home [+see also:
