Last night in Madrid, the Spanish Association of Film Journalists (AICE)held the Feroz awards ceremony, where debut feature filmmaker, Catalonian director Carla Simón, won big: her film, Summer 1993 [+see also:

, not only won the 2017 Best Drama Award, but also won the award for Best Director, Best Screenplay for David Verdaguer, and Best Supporting Actor. The film continues to rake in awards since premiering at the Berlinale almost a year ago (where it picked up two) and following yesterday's triumph, next stop is the Goya awards, which are due to take place in two weeks’ time (read the news here).
