Since 8 January, Nathan Ambrosioni has been in the South of France shooting Les drapeaux de papier (lit. “Paper Flags”). This is the official feature debut by the fresh-faced director (who is just 18 years old), who previously helmed two "homemade genre movies" (Hostile in 2013 and Therapy in 2016 – the latter took part in festivals such as Fantasia in Montreal, Sitges, Screamfest LA and the BIFFF).

Standing out among the cast are Noémie Merlant (nominated for the César Award for Most Promising Actress in 2017 and for the Lumières Award for Best New Actress for Heaven Will Wait [+see also:

Written by the director, the story revolves around 22-year-old Charlie, who lives on her own. She is a checkout girl and, when time permits, an artist, but she finds it difficult to make ends meet. Then her elder brother is released from prison and her day-to-day life is turned upside down.

Produced by Stéphanie Douet for Sensito FilmsLes drapeaux de papier has secured an advance on receipts from the CNC and backing from the Alpes-Maritimes department. The 25-day shoot, which will take place in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region (more specifically, in Draguignan, Nice, Antibes, Le Cannet and Grasse), will wrap on 27 February. The French distribution will be entrusted to Rezo Films, while the international sales are still under negotiation.

As a reminder, Sensito Films has produced titles such as Crawl [+see also:
