Chaired by Australian actress Cate Blanchett (see the news), the competition jury at the 71st Cannes Film Festival (9-19 May) has now had its line-up unveiled in its entirety, and it will comprise a total of nine members.

It will include five women, as the chair will be joined by US director-producer Ava DuVernay (who rose to stardom with Selma, nominated for the Oscar for Best Picture in 2015), Burundian author-composer-performer Khadja Nin and two actresses: the USA’s Kristen Stewart (popular in competition at Cannes in 2014 and 2016 with Clouds of Sils Maria [+see also:

Four other big names will also be summoned to judge the 18 films currently in competition (a number of additions are on the cards) for the 2018 Palme d’Or (see the article). Taiwanese actor Chang Chen (who has worked with helmers such as Wong Kar-wai and Hou Hsiao-hsien) is one of them, and he will sit alongside three directors: Russia’s Andrey Zvyagintsev (who has taken part in the Cannes competition three times and won awards in 2014 and 2017 for Leviathan [+see also:
