The Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (NIFFF) (6-14 July) will welcome one of the major figures of modern cinema, David Cronenberg. The Canadian director will be tasked with granting the HR Giger ‘Narcisse’ Award for Best Feature to one of the 16 films selected for competition during the closing ceremony on 14 July.

Festival-goers will also be able to find out more about the filmmaker’s influences through his carte blanche. The four films chosen by him are The Incredible Shrinking Man (Jack Arnold, 1957), Woman in the Dunes (Teshigahara Hiroshi, 1964), Hour of the Wolf (Ingmar Bergman, 1968) and Spirits of the Dead - Toby Dammit (Federico Fellini, 1968).
