London Film Festival line-up

Sandra Hebron, the Artistic Director of the 47th London Film Festival (LFF) has just announced the complete programme of this year's event, which will be taking place from October 22 to November 6, 2003. Between Jane Campion's psychological thriller In the Cut chosen as the opening film and Christine Jeffs' closing film Sylvia, it's an impressive line-up of titles from 45 countries, which will be shown in the usual nine main sections of the festival.
The New British Cinema section will have a strong line-up of first time directors, such as Penny Woolcock's The Principles of Lust, Karl Golden's The Honeymooners and Tony Fisher's The Trouble With Men and Women. The "French Revolution" section will present eight feature films, from Valeria Bruni Tedeschi's directorial debut It's Easier For a Camel [+see also:

16 titles from all over Europe are regrouped in this year's Cinema Europa Section, with a special focus on Czech cinema and a strong Italian representation, including Gabriele Muccino's Remember Me [+see also:

film profile] and Daniele Cipri and Franco Maresco's The Return of Cagliostro.
The US independent filmmaker and writer Neil Labute (Nurse Betty) and the Hollywood actress Holly Hunter will take part of the popular Guardian Interviews, while the multi-talented Christopher Guest (A Mighty Wind) and the cinematographer Antony Dod Mantle (Dogville, Festen) will be the focus of the SKY Movies Actors' Masterclass.
