YLE fetes European cinema

The Finnish broadcaster YLE is taking an active part in celebrating European cinema as part of Cinedays 2003 with the transmission of 13 European films on its terrestrial channels, YLE TV1 and TV2, and four films on its two digital channels, YLE Teema and YLE FST, until October 24th.

Following the broadcasting of the French/Belgian film Battle Cries>/I> on October 3rd and the Italian film, The Way We Laughed on the 5th, YLE TV1 will show the UK film Maybe Baby on the 10th, the Scandinavian films Misery Harbour on the 12th and A Song for Martin on the 17th, the French film, Goodbye Children on the 19th and the UK film Priest on the 24th.
YLE TV2 will programme the two Spanish films The Girl of Your Dreams and Torrente, the Stupid Arm of the Law on the 11th and 17th of October, as well as the Italian film, Three Men and a Leg on the 11th, the French films Half a Chance and My Wife Is an Actress [+see also:

on the 16th and 18th, and the UK film, Last resort on the 25th.
YLE will programme two films from the Czech Republic: Postriziny on the 15th and Vesnicko ma strediskova on the 18th, and the other digital channel, YLE FST, will show the Norwegian/UK co-production Aberdeen on the 11th and the Italian film The Ignorant Fairies on the 18th.
Finally, YLE’s Swedish language channel, YLE FST, will also dedicate its film programme filmtid to the Cinedays event.
