Cinedays closing ceremony will be held in Rome on 24th October at the new Auditorium designed by Renzo Piano.
The programme is being prepared by the Ministry of Culture and will open with a screening of Mario Camerini’s Ulysses (1954), which has been restored by the Italian National Cinema Archive/CSC. A selection of films on the capitals of Europe in the early 1900’s by the Lumière brothers, provided by various European Cinema Archives, will follow. The Istituto Luce will also present The Birth of the European Common Market (1957).

Following the screenings, the minister of culture, Giuliano Urbani and the European commissioner for culture and audiovisual Viviane Reding will make closing speeches. The testimonials of the Cinedays evening will be Peter Mullan and Gabriele Salvatores. The Italian director's film I’m not scared , Italy’s proposal for Oscar nomination, will be screened at 20:30. The evening will end with the screening of a silent film from 1916, Ernst Lubitsch’s When I was dead , inspired by the novel "The Late Mattia Pascal" by Luigi Pirandello, discovered and restored by the Slovenian National Cinema Archive.
