Borgia, seeking financing

by

- The film to be starred by Ewan McGregor is on hold: no money to begin shooting. The English producer claims that «Everything should be settled by the end of the year»

Filming should have begun within a few weeks at the Babelberg Studios in Berlin and then continue in Italy, but the money has run out. Following the collapse of negotiations with the firm that should have guaranteed the sale of the film in the States, Borgia, directed by Neil Jordan and starring Ewan McGregor and Christina Ricci, is now seeking financing...
However, financial problems not withstanding, all systems are go: McGregor´s agent has in fact declared to Screendaily.com that the actor has fallen in love with the project and is absolutely intent on making the film, while the producer Stephen Wolley claims he is convinced that new arrangements will be made in time to start filming by the end of 2002.
