French Fete at Temple Bar

Eric Cantona, Andre Techiné and Bruno Dumont are among the French guests who will be taking part in CinéFrance, the 2003 Festival of French Film, taking place at the Irish Film Institute (IFI) in Temple Bar, Dublin between November 27th -December 7th.

The Festival is jointly organised by the IFI and the French Embassy in Dublin, and the programme features 30 Irish premieres of contemporary French films. These include 13 feature film debuts, such as Xavier Giannoli’s Eager Bodies, Francis Palluau’s Welcome to the Rozes and Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu’s A Man, A Real Man.

A special retrospective on André Téchiné will highlight some of his most recent work, including his latest film, Strayed. Three French box office hits are also part of the French fête in Dublin: Jet Lag starring Juliette Binoche and Jean Reno, Coline Serreau’s follow-up to Three Men And a Baby, 18 Years Later, e Thierry Binisti The Over Eater, starring Eric Cantona in his first leading role. The screening will be preceded by a short film directed by the footballer/actor who will be present to introduce his work.
