Schorr reigns in Stockholm

The German director, Michael Schorr left the 14th Stockholm International Film Festival with four of the main awards including Best film, Best Feature Film Debut, Best Actor ( for Horst Krause), and Best Script for his film, Schultze Gets The Blues [+see also:

, already shown in Venice this year.

Two other main awards went to the South Korean film A Good Lawyer’s Wife, whose lead actress, So-Ri Moon, was named Best actress and whose director of photography, Woo-Hyeong Kim, won the Best Photography.

Tom MacCarthy’s The Station Agent won the Audience Award, and the French film, Elle est des nôtres by Siegrid Alnoy received the FIPRESCI Award for Best Film. The FIPRESCI Jury also gave Sami Saif’s documentary film Dogs & Deer-Dogville Confessions a Special Mention.

The Festival, which ended on November 23rd, screened a total of 160 films from 40 countries and paid a special tribute to David Lynch, who was handed the Bronze Horse Lifetime Achievement award from Swedish actress, Pernilla August.
