L'estate di mio fratello (=the summer of my brother), written and directed by the film-maker from Verona, Pietro Reggiani, who also produced the film, together with Antonio Ciano for Nuvola Film. The film is set in the province of Venice in the 70’s ; it recounts little Sergio’s summer in the countryside after his parents tell him he is going to have a baby brother. The boy starts fantasizing and ends up imagining burning the baby alive. A few days after, his mother has a miscarriage ; little Sergio is confronted with guilt. The director waited a few years to shoot the end of the film, in order to show his character as an adolescent.
