as one of three French films in Official Competition at the 58th Cannes Film Festival (11-22 May), production company Les Films Pelléas has just announced a surprising cast for Hors de Prix, the next film from Pierre Salvadori. The filmmaker’s sixth feature film brings together Audrey Tautou and Gad Elmaleh, two of the most visible actors in the new generation of French talent. Co-written by the director and Benoît Graffin, the screenplay mixes comedy with sentimental adventure, following the trials and tribulations of a waiter in a big hotel (Gad Elmaleh) and a con-artist in need of cash (Audrey Tautou). A misunderstanding leads the young woman to believe that he’s extremely rich and she attempts to seduce him. Once the truth is out, she leaves for the Côte d’Azur and he sets out to find her.

in 2003 with Daniel Auteuil (a Best Actor nomination at the Césars) and José Garcia. Behind this success story entirely produced by Philippe Martin for Les Films Pelléas, it is revealing how much the filmmaker allows the actors to shine, no doubt a trait that attracted Audrey Tautou and Gad Elmaleh to the project Hors de Prix. Filming should start in the autumn.
