Sunshine in 3 Mills Studios

by

Danny Boyle’s new feature film, Sunshine, will be shot entirely in London’s major studio complex 3 Mills Studios from August 2005, just as his previous film 28 Days Later.
Sunshine is the story of a team of astronauts who set out on a mission to reignite a part of the dying sun. Another team was sent out before them but was never heard from again. The science-fiction film starring Cillian Murphy will be produced by Boyle’s usual partner/producer Andrew MacDonald (DNA Films) for Fox Searchlight Pictures.

"We are delighted to bring Sunshine to 3 Mills Studios", said Andrew MacDonald. "The demands of this complex film were met by the Studios in a timely, cost effective and professional manner which underlines just how easy it is to shoot a major feature film in London". Indeed, to accommodate the production, 3 Mills Studios brought forward plans to upgrade a range of on-site facilities including new construction workshops and en-suite dressing rooms.
Owned by the London Development Agency, 3 Mills Studios has 16 stages varying in size from 3,000 sq ft to 14,000 sq ft. Recent films shot there include Tim Burton’s animated film The Corpse Bride, Roger Michell’s Enduring Love [+see also:
