Spanish Film Week

One week dedicated to Spanish Film in the King Cinema in Lisbon between June 7th and 12th with 6 recent feature films never screened in Portugal.
The event, organized by the ICAM (Instituto do Cinema, Audiovisual e Multimedia) and the ICAA (Instituto de la cinematografía y de las artes audiovisuales) will be attended by three directors, who will introduce their films: Benito Zambrano will introduce Habana Blues [+see also:

, his latest film which closed the Un Certain Regard section at the recent Cannes Film Festival, Patricia Ferreira with Para que no olvides and veteran Carlos Saura with The Seventh Days, for which he was nominated for a Best Director Goya last January.
The other films being screened in this non-competitive event are Ventura Pons's Amor Idiota, Gracia Querejeta's Hector (three Goya nominations) and Dragon Hill, an animated feature by Angel Izquierdo.

The 6 films are apparently attracting interest from both the cinemagoers and the industry professionals. Though no parallel film market has been organized, several meetings will take place between producers and distributors from Portugal, Brazil and Spain, with the aim of giving a shot in the arm to cooperation in the industry between the three countries.
International sales from the six films are handled by Lolafilms (The Seventh day), Latido Films (Amor Idiota y Para que no te olvides), All Rights Management (Dragon Hill), Elias Querejeta P.G., S.L. (Hector) and Pyramide International (Habana Blues).
