Lisa Ohlin’s comedy Sex, Hopp & Kärlek (Sex, Hope and Love) released by Sonet in Sweden on August 5th and still playing at No10 of the local box office, will compete at the upcoming Montreal World Film Festival (August 26 – September 5).
It’s the story of Birgit (Ing-Marie Carlsson), stuck in an uneventful life with her husband Lennart (Lennart Jähkel) and their teenage daughter Marie (Mira Eklund). When Birgit’s childhood sweetheart Bertil (Krister Henriksson) turns up–now a famous TV host –she sees an opportunity to change her life, but she’s not the only one who wants and needs change.
