Reel Ireland on tour

The Irish Minister of Arts, Sport and Tourism John O’Donogue launched last Thursday at the Irish Film Institute 'Reel Ireland', an international touring package of seven contemporary irish films and two Irish classics recently restored by the Irish Film Archive, curator of the tour. The selected titles will screen as part of the 7th annual Magners Irish Film Festival in Boston (17-21 November) and will continue their tour in film festivals or cultural events in Portugal, Greece, the Czech Republic, Australia, Africa and Israel.

The Reel Ireland tour funded by the government supported agency Culture Ireland with the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and the Irish Film Board, is a response to the growing international awareness of and demand for Irish films. This film promotional package is made available by The Irish Film Institute and the Irish Film Archive free of charge in addition to stills, publicity materials, copyright clearance and help to arrange guest speakers.

The seven contemporary titles part of the tour are Damien O’Donnell’s Inside I’m Dancing [+see also:

, Terry Loane’s Mickebo & Me, David Gleeson’s Cowboys And Angels, Liz Gill’s Goldfish Memory, Aisling Walsh’s Song For a Raggy Boy, Lenny Abrahamson’s Adam & Paul and Paddy Breathnach’s Man About Dog.
The two Irish classics recently restored are Cyril Frankel’s 1958 film She Didn’t Say No and Peter Lennon’s 1968 title Rocky Road to Dublin.
