Asia Favours French Film

by

- Unifrance reports on the Yokohama Film Festival. 17 sales closed and negotiations are still underway

Unifrance announced the closure of 17 sales contracts for 15 recently produced French films to four Asian countries: Japan, Korea, Taiwan and the Philippines. Negotiations with a number of other Asian countries are still underway. These contracts are a direct result of the excellent performance of French cinema at the recent Yokohama (Japan) festival (19-24 June) and demonstrate the popularity of Gallic cinema in this notoriously difficult market to break into.
The titles include Claire Denis´ Beau TravailSur mes lèvres, Christian Carion´s Une hirondelle a fait le printemps as well as the following films that were selected for competition : Zabou Breitman´s Se souvenir des belles choses and Alain Berberian and Nicolas Forestier´s Le Boulet.
