Carlyle superhero in Flood

Scottish actor Robert Carlyle is going to try to save London from being flooded by torrents of water under the careful supervision of first-time director Tony Mitchell in Flood, a UK/South African/Canadian co-production.

Mitchell, who directed the well-known docu-dramas Supervolcano and Ancient Egyptians, is currently shooting the film for another seven weeks in South Africa, and will then move to London with his cast and crew, which also includes Tom Courtenay, Jessalyn Gilsig (in her first film role) and Joanne Whalley.

The film’s UK producers are Power’s Justin Bodle (creator of the award-winning TV drama Henry VIII starring Ray Windstone) and Peter McAleese, producer of Walter SallesThe Motorcycle Diaries [+see also:

The South-African co-producers from Moonlighting Films are Philip Key and Genevieve Hofmeyr, and the Canadian co-producer is Muse Entertainment’s Michael Prupas.
