Ramos, Panchot and Lvosky granted a total of €1.28m

<Véronique Cayla, Director General of the Centre National de la Cinématographie (CNC), last week signed three pre-production advances on receipts agreements for a total sum of €1.28m.

Capitaine Achab, the second feature by Philippe Ramos, produced by Sesame Films and supported by Arte France Cinéma, was allocated €450,000. The film, starring Denis Lavant and co-starring Dominique Blanc, Niels Arestrup, Isild Le Besco, Catherine Mouchet, Jean-François Stévenin and Mathieu Amalric, is a five-part story on the hero of Moby Dick, with references to Herman Melville’s famous novel made only towards the end of the film.

An advance on receipts of €450,000 was also granted to Sans moi (lit. “Without Me”) by Olivier Panchot, an Elzevir Films production starring Yaël Abecassis and Clemence Poesy, while L’ami de Fred Astaire [+see also:

by Noémie Lvosky received an advance of €380,000. Starring Jean-Pierre Marielle, Valeria Bruni Tedeschi, Bulle Ogier, Arié Elmaleh, Sabine Azéma and Bakary Sangare, Lvosky’s French/Swiss co-production (Why Not Productions 90 %/Vega Film 10 %) is also being supported by Eurimages (€600,000) and the Ile de France region (€487,000).

The CNC granted three advances on receipts for production: €76,300 each to Emmanuel Mouret’s Change of Address [+see also:
