Written and directed by Agro, Shut Up & Shoot Me is a surreal black comedy starring Andy Nyman and Anna Geislerova. Produced by Storitel and UFO Pictures, it follows an Englishman in Prague whose wife is killed by a falling statue.
The Front Line is the story of an immigrant bank security guard (Frenchman Eriq Ebouaney) who turns the tables on Dublin’s criminal underworld when they force him to take part in a robbery at the bank. The film is the second collaboration between producer Nathalie Lichtenthaeler and Gleeson. High Point is handling world sales.
Other Irish films programmed include the world premiere of Small Engine Repair by first-time director Niall Heery, Brian Kirk’s Middletown, Marian Comer’s 48 Angels, Ronan Glennane's Pride & Joy and Johnny Was [+see also:

Italian cinema will be in the spotlight with a section of classics such as Federico Fellini’s Amarcord and Luchino Visconti’s The Leopard, alongside recent productions such as Francesco Munzi’s feature debut Saimir [+see also:

Top US screenwriter Robert Towne (Chinatown), UK filmmaker Nick Roeg and US actress Kathy Bates will hold master classes, and the Galway Film Fair – Ireland’s only film market, organised in association with the MEDIA Programme and the Irish Film Board – will welcome some 40 international film professionals, including US representatives Rhodri Thomas (Weinstein Company), Eleonore de Prunele (Focus Features), Bingham Ray, Sweden’s Tomas Eskilsson (Film i Väst), Judith Toth (Non Stop Film Sales), and sales agents Gary Philips (Moviehouse Entertainment), Carey Fitzgerald (highpoint Film & TV) and Stephen Kelliher (Beyond).
