Wolf Gaudlitz’s film about the Sicilian capital entitled Palermo Whispers won the jury’s special award at the 31st International Film Festival of Figueira da Foz in Portugal (5-15 September). Claudia Heuermann’s documentary about experimental musician, John Zorn, entitled A bookshelf on Top of the Sky won best documentary. Earlier this year, this film also won a “Young Lion” award for best documentary at the 2002 Munich Cinema Celebrations.
