PRODUCTION UK

From Natural Nylon to Sonnet Pictures

by

Damon Bryant, who founded Natural Nylon Production together with fellow producer Bradley Adams and leading British actors Jude Law, Ewan McGregor and Jonny Lee Miller (Plunkett & Macleane), has decided to go solo and set up his own company Sonnet Pictures.
He will run his new venture with talented British writer/director John Maybury, whose previous film, Love Is The Devil, was selected for Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival in 1998.
Maybury’s new film, the Euros23m Marlowe, was co-produced and sold by Alliance-Atlantis, and is one of two projects developed under Natural Nylon that Bryant is taking with him to Sonnet. Marlowe tells the story of the brilliant Elizabethan playwright (whom many consider to be the real author of William Shakespeare’s plays) and the passionate love triangle between Marlowe, his patron Thomas Walsingham and Lady Walsingham.
The other project co-produced with Alliance Atlantis – who have a first-look deal with Natural Nylon- is White Clouds, directed by Alison Maclean (Crush and Beloved).
Bryant will still retain a stake in Natural Nylon which has currently in post-production To Kill a King, a Euros20m period drama starring Tim Roth and Rupert Everett. Hanway Films are handling international sales.
