The Taviani brothers’ paradox

are coming to Italian cinemas Friday, March 23 (through 01 Distribution). Presented in the Special section of last month’s Berlinale, the film by brothers Paolo and Vittorio Taviani is based on the eponymous novel by Antonia Arslan and deals with the Turkish massacre of the Armenians in 1915.

Produced by Grazia Volpi for Ager Tre The Lark Farm was co-produced by Spain (Sagrera TV), Bulgaria (Nimar Studios) and France (Flach Film and France 2 Cinéma). The cast features Paz Vega, Moritz Bleibtreu, Alessandro Preziosi, Tcheky Karyo, André Dussollier, Angela Molina and Mohammed Bakri.

"This film is a bit of a paradox… it came about from our sense of guilt when we came across the Armenian tragedy three years ago almost accidentally", said Vittorio Taviani.
