Cristiano Lucarelli: Life in fast-forward

by

"There is something that unites Mohammed Alì, Tommie Smith, Maradona and....Cristiano Lucarelli: the notion of sport as being tied to ideals and the courage to stand up against the establishment even at the risk of one’s own career", said journalist-documentary filmmaker Gianni Minà at the presentation of 99 amaranto, the new documentary by Federico Micali on the forward for the Livorno football club, which is being brought to screens by revamped distribution company Pablo-Bunker Lab.

The film tells the story of an unconventional player of modern football who "at the height of his career turned his back on contract worth millions and a certain future to play in the B series, in order to wear his city’s team jersey and bring Livorno back to the A series after a 55-year absence", said the director.

Produced by L'Occhio e La Luna, the DVD can also be found at newsstands throughout in Italy.
