Two new calls for proposals published

The MEDIA programme has launched two calls for proposals aimed at supporting the online distribution of films and the organization of European initial training initiatives.

The Video on Demand and Digital Cinema Distribution call for proposals foresees services that target two different types of audiences:
1. one aimed at the general audience through video on demand services (Business to Consumers),
2. one aimed at cinema exhibitors offering digital cinema distribution to their audience (Business to Business).

Rights holders are encouraged to form consortia and platforms providing end users with access to a significant number of European audiovisual works. The budget of the call is €4m.

The objective of the call for proposals in the field of training is to encourage exchanges and cooperation between higher education institutions, training organisations and partners in the professional sector. This should contribute to the networking and mobility of students and trainers in Europe.

An information Day will be held in Brussels on April 26, 2007 from 2-5:30 pm at the EACEA (rue Colonel Bourg 135/139 BE-1140 Evere).

A second meeting on training schemes will be held on the May 23, 2007 in Cannes. For more information, please consult this web page later in the month. The budget of the call is EUR €1.36m.
