Body Rice accumulates international prizes

Hugo Vieira da Silva was chosen Best Director at the Festival of Independent Film of Buenos Aires, where he presented his feature debut Body Rice [+see also:
trailer
film profile].
This is the latest in a series of international awards for the Portuguese filmmaker and his film, following the special mention at last year’s Locarno Film Festival and the Best Director award snatched up earlier this year in the Mexico City International Festival of Contemporary Film.
Produced by Paulo Branco for Clap Filmes, Body Rice also screened in other international film showcases, such as Rotterdam, Hong King, Bangkok and Las Palmas.
Born in Portugal but based in Berlin for several years now, Vieira da Silva is currently developing the script of his upcoming project (read the interview), which will have a German co-producer that, however, is still unknown.
