NonStop brings Back to Bosnia to MIP TV

by

Scandinavian-based sales agent NonStop Sales has added Bosnian director Sabina Vajraca’s debut documentary Back to Bosnia to its MIP TV line-up.

The gripping documentary – which has been selected at 30 different international festivals, including the AFI Los Angeles Film Festival – was produced in the US by Alison Hanson for Alternate Plan Productions. It tells the story of Aida Vajraca and her two children, who move to Florida as the Bosnian war escalates in the town of Banja Luka. Aida’s husband Emir is left behind to work with a local organization to free prisoners from Serbian concentration camps.

With the signing of a peace treaty in 1996, Banja Luka is handed over to the Serbs and Emir leaves his country to join his family in the US. Ten years later, the Vajracas return to Bosnia to reclaim their family home, still occupied by a Serb family who claimed it as their own. The film follows the Vajraca family as they discover what kind of life begins when a war is over.

Also on NonStop Sales’ MIP TV line-up is the Icelandic thriller Cold Trail by Björn Br. Björnsson. The first feature film produced by Saga Film in Iceland garnered over 17,000 admissions at home after its December 29, 2006 release, making it one of the most popular local films since 2004 (apart from last year’s top local grosser Jar City [+see also:
