FESTIVALS Austria

Linz: Capital of lively European cinema

by

The Austrian city of Linz (European Capital of Culture 2009) will host the 4th Crossing Europe Festival from April 24-29.

This year’s edition offers audiences 120 films from 29 countries, which are considered by organisers as belonging to a young, lively and daring auteur cinema – a concept that the festival has been defending since its inception.

Three films will screen on opening night: two Austrian titles, Markus Kaiser-Mühlecker's musical documentary Attwenger Adventure and Marcus J. Carney's The End of the Neubacher Project, as well as August Days by Catalan director Marc Recha, to whom the festival will hold a tribute.
