(see Focus) – will this summer be filming Entre les murs (lit. “Between the Walls”), an adaptation of the eponymous novel by François Bégaudeau, who co-wrote the script with the director and Robin Campillo.

The film tells the story of a French teacher at a high school in a rough Parisian suburb and is being produced by Caroline Benjo and Carole Scotta for Haut et Court, who will also distribute it in France.

Receipts also went to Bonello’s De la guerre, which is selected at the upcoming Cannes Festival Atelier (see news) and scheduled to begin shooting in June. The film stars Italy’s Asia Argento alongside French actors Mathieu Amalric and Laurent Lucas and will be produced by Les Films du lendemain and My New Picture.

After Jeanne and the Perfect Guy, The Adventures of Felix, The True Story of My Life in Rouen and Cockles and Muscles (Panorama screening at the 2005 Berlinale), Ducastel and Martineau are currently preparing L’arbre et la forêt (lit. “The Tree and the Forest”), a Maïa Films production.

Delépine and Kerven received an advances on receipts for Louise Michel (still without a producer). The feature will be their third after Aaltra and Avida [+see also:

Their second feature follows the trials and tribulations of two teachers at a small rural primary school, who are passionate about rumba and take part in contests each weekend until one day their car nearly runs a man over in the middle of the road.
