Centoautori for the new industry law

by

Headed by director Giuseppe Piccioni, the newly formed Centoautori, made up of film and audiovisual industry professionals, has after a series of meetings and discussions formulated a "manifesto" that could serve as a reference point for the new film law, currently under discussion in Parliament.

The Centoautori movement is asking absolutely everyone working in the field – from cinemaphotographers and editors to actors and dubbers, production and costume designers to journalists and festival directors, continuity persons and agents to TV and film screenwriters, technical crew and assistants of all sectors, and so forth – to sign a petition requesting fixed and equitable rules in favour of freedom of expression and artistic plurality. In their words: “A law that frees the energies that Italian cinema is capable of expressing today".

Starting at 5:30 pm on Monday, May 7, at Rome’s Teatro Ambra Jovinelli, Centoautori will hold a meeting with Minister of Culture Francesco Rutelli and those members of Parliament overseeing the drafting of the new film law, Andrea Colasio, Vittoria Franco and Pietro Folena.

For more information on the petition, please contact Giulia Bernardini at piuomenocentoautori@libero.it or +39 333 6778229.
