for Luc Besson, will bring the life and adventures of Norwegian resistance fighter and WWII hero Max Manus to the big screen.

Based on Manus’ own autobiographical accounts adapted for the screen by Thomas Nordseth, the film will follow him from the beginning of the war until the end, in the summer of 1945. After fighting as a volunteer in Finland against the Russian invaders from 1939-40, he returned to his native country occupied by the Germans. He quickly started to work underground and was one of the key members of the Norwegian resistance movement led by Gunnar Sønsteby, the Oslo group. A specialist in naval sabotage, he famously sank two German ships, the Monte Rosa in 1944 and the Donau on January 16, 1945.
