After the romantic comedy Just Sex and Nothing Else [+see also:

and the historical epic Children of Glory [+see also:

, the most successful Hungarian films in the last two years with 407,000 and 452,000 admissions respectively, young director Krisztina Goda is to change genres once again. Her third feature, Chameleon, a thriller, is set to go into production at the end of 2007.

Produced by Gabor Kalomista for Megafilm – who launched the director’s career (see news) – Chameleon will centre on a gifted young man who becomes a psychopath from lack of love, an all the more dangerous one as he is also likeable and sensitive.

(The article continues below - Commercial information)

While cleaning offices at night, Zsolt Kovàcs learns a lot about his invisible employers by examining what they leave behind, carefully choosing his targets, often disillusioned women whom he seduces, methodically taking their money. An artist of manipulation, with a generous dose of humour and the ability to assume different personalities, Zsolt begins to work in a psychologist’s practice, where he meets Hanna, a 30 year-old dancer who is physically incapacitated and the daughter of a millionaire. The ideal victim if love doesn’t get in the way.

Goda, who studied directing at the British National Film and Television School, had her second feature, Children of Glory screen in February in the Berlinale Special programme (see article).
