Paris Cinéma gets underway

The 5th Paris Cinéma Festival, opening today and running until July 14, is presided over by Charlotte Rampling and hosts a competition of 13 features, which will screen at the MK2 Bibliothèque cinema and focus on young directors.

Taking place on Wednesday is a much awaited conference entitled Quel(s) rôle(s), aujourd'hui et demain, pour les principaux festivals de cinéma en Europe ? [Which role(s) today and tomorrow, for the main film festivals in Europe?]. Speakers include artistic directors Dieter Kosslick (Berlin), Gilles Jacob (Cannes), Giorgio Gosetti (Rome) and Marco Müller (Venice).
