A look on the East

Blue moon is the promising film debut of Andrea Maria Dusl, a romantic road movie that travels to Eastern Europe which will be presented in Locarno Film Festival.
An interesting study with documentary elements on the fall of the Berlin wall and its ramifications for the eastern part of Europe. For the director it was fascinating to discover this whole New World, with a different way of life and a different mentality. After visiting this area she decided to do a film about the discovery of the Eastern Europe, a story of nostalgia and a road back to memory lane. «There were people like you and me, but in their stores they sold different things, the people had other dreams and other paradises in their hearts» said the director in an online interview to the Austrian Film Committee web-site.
A project, that began its life as a collection of 80 short snapshot stories, went on to tell the story of two encounters between Johnny and Jana.
