Bresson Award goes to Angelopoulos
Theo Angelopoulos wins the «Robert Bresson Award» this year. The award is given every year by the Tertio Millennio Festival and the italian Magazine Rivista del Cinematografo in
collaboration with the «Pontificio Consiglio delle Comunicazioni Sociali» and the «Pontificio Consiglio della Cultura». In the past, this recognition has gone to internationally famous directors such as Manoel de Oliveira and Giuseppe Tornatore.
Greek director Angelopoulos will receive the award on August 31 during the
Cinema Mostra of Venice. It will be presented by American Archbishop
Mons. John Foley and Mons. Enrique Planas, Director of Vatican Film Library.
