Filmax's Transsiberian journey to Sundance and Berlin

Transsiberian by US-born director Brad Anderson, co-produced by Spain's Filmax and Germany's Universum Films, has been chosen to participate in the upcoming Sundance (January 17-27) and Berlin (February 7-17) film festivals.

The project marks another step in the collaboration between the Madrid-based company and Anderson after 2004’s The Machinist.

Shot over 10 weeks in Lithuania and China, the film stars Woody Harrelson and Emily Mortimer (Match Point [+see also:

) as a couple travelling on the Trans-Siberian Railway from China to Moscow. The journey will be marked by deception and murder. Sir Ben Kingsley, Kate Mara and Spanish star Eduardo Noriega (Alatriste [+see also:

) round out the cast.

Spanish theatrical distribution is scheduled for the first trimester of 2008.
