Film Week line-up

The annual showcase of the best of current Hungarian cinema, Hungarian Film Week, has unveiled the selection for its 39th edition (January 29-February 5), which will screen 104 films in competition including 18 features, 37 shorts and 33 documentaries, in Budapest.

Nine international premieres and seven debut features will vie for the Golden Reel, to be awarded for the first time.

Major titles on the programme include Kornél Mundruczó’s Delta (see news); Tamás Almási’s Mario the Magician (see article); Gábor Dettre’s The Class; Erik Novák’s Nosedive; Elemér Ragályi’s Without Mercy; Szabolcs Hajdu’s Off Hollywood; Róbert Alföldi’s Tranquillity; domestic box-office hit The Train Keeps a Rollin’ by Róbert Koltai; and Milky Way by Benedek Fliegauf (lauded at the Locarno Film Festival, see news).
